Keeping Our Customers Connected- GVTC hits one year mark with Free WiFi Spots for Community
Starting in April 2020, GVTC and The GVTC Foundation decided to open free WiFi hotspots across our service area to aid our communities in need at the height of the pandemic. Partnering with local organizations, GVTC set up the hotspot locations to help hundreds of students and families who were experiencing hardships. This month marks 14 months since the hotspots were opened. GVTC understands how crucial communication technology is to working, teaching, and learning from home and will continue to help our loyal customers.
13 Free WiFi Hotspots Available
Extended through June 30, 2021, GVTC is offering 13 free WiFi hotspots spread across seven food bank locations, five schools, and one Blanco office for area students and community members to utilize until public areas that regularly offer free Internet reopen. These organizations are located throughout Greater San Antonio, the Texas Hill Country, and South Central Texas, and include:
C.R.R.C. of Canyon Lake (Community Resource and Recreation Center)
Gonzales Christian Assistance Ministry
GVTC Central Office of Blanco (across from Blanco Elementary School)
“GVTC and The GVTC Foundation believe investing in our youth is imperative to building and supporting the future of our communities, and we encourage everyone to help uplift, assist and encourage students,” said Ritchie Sorrells, GVTC President & CEO.
