As an essential business that provides crucial services to its customers, it's GVTC’s top priority to ensure its employees, customers, and the general public stay safe and connected. One way GVTC is accomplishing this is by temporarily increasing existing broadband internet subscriptions to meet new speed needs. ![Optimized-Resize Browsing Internet on Laptop](https://blog.gvtc.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Optimized-Resize%20Browsing%20Internet%20on%20Laptop.jpg?width=300&name=Optimized-Resize%20Browsing%20Internet%20on%20Laptop.jpg) ## **Speeds to Meet your Needs** To ensure that our customers stay connected in their homes during the COVID-19 pandemic, GVTC is temporarily increasing speeds for all eligible fiber-optic customers with less than 100 Mbps service and all eligible cable broadband customers with less than 20 Mbps service. The immediate changes support our customers as more and more of you continue to work from home, learn from home, and seek entertainment after hours. These speed increases have been extended through July 31, 2021. “GVTC plays a critical part in our community’s ability to continue work from home and commit to social distancing. We strive to provide the best communications services around and are doing everything we can to ensure our customers stay connected,” says Ritchie Sorrells, GVTC President & CEO. Broadband subscribers do not need to take any action to receive this increase at this time. Internet speeds will be automatically upgraded area-wide to ease those transitioning to this new (albeit temporary) normal. ## **Further Assistance** The GVTC Foundation, the philanthropic arm of GVTC, is also helping to alleviate the burden in the community as best it can.
