GVTC Foundation’s Thanksgiving Give Back Project 2024: A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Community

IMG_3933 (1)This year, The GVTC Foundation proudly celebrated the 12th Annual Thanksgiving Give Back Project, a deeply cherished tradition in our community. Thanks to the support of our partners and volunteers, we successfully delivered 518 Thanksgiving meals to families facing hardship throughout the GVTC service area. What began over a decade ago as a humble idea has blossomed into a community-wide endeavor, uniting hundreds of hands and hearts in the spirit of generosity.

From its inception, our vision has been simple yet powerful: to provide comfort and sustenance to families in our community during the Thanksgiving season. This project has grown into one of the Foundation's most significant annual outreach events, helping families feel the warmth of a holiday meal during challenging times.

Since 2012, The GVTC Foundation has collaborated closely with local food pantries, which are vital in identifying families most in need within our service area. With each passing year, the project has expanded, thanks to the incredible support of our local businesses, schools, and community organizations. This year, with contributions from local partners, we gathered everything needed for a traditional Thanksgiving feast, from frozen turkeys and sides to bread and desserts. Volunteers from GVTC and their families came together, working hands-on to pack and personally deliver meals the Saturday before Thanksgiving.

Our goal this year was to support 500 families, and thanks to the extraordinary generosity of this community, we surpassed it. To date, this project has provided Thanksgiving meals to 3,749 families, a milestone we could not have achieved without each contributor’s kindness and commitment. We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the following partners for their incredible support this year:
