The holiday season is a time for gratitude, family, and sharing a meal with the people we love. But for too many families in our community, the joy of Thanksgiving can be clouded by the worry of not having enough.
That’s why every year, The GVTC Foundation’s Thanksgiving Give Back Project works to change that story. And this year, with your help, we aim to make an even bigger impact — bringing the warmth of a holiday meal and the comfort of knowing their neighbors care to more families than ever before.
How Your Kindness Makes a Difference
A simple gift can go a long way:
- $40 provides a complete Thanksgiving meal for an entire family — turkey, sides, and all the fixings.
- Your canned goods or pantry items ensure each box is filled with love and tradition.
From September through the second week of November, GVTC employees, their families, and generous community volunteers work tirelessly to gather donations. Then, on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, we personally deliver these meals to local families — turning your generosity into moments of joy, relief, and connection.

Drop off any of the following at any GVTC store location by November 10, 2023:
- Instant Mashed Potatoes
- Jellied Cranberry Sauce (canned)
- Green Beans (canned)
- Corn (canned)
- Gravy (canned or packet)
- Stuffing (instant)
- Sweet Potatoes/Yams (canned)
- Aluminum Turkey Roasters
- Turkey Oven Bags
- Frozen Turkey (12–15 lbs — accepted week of delivery)
- Loaf of Bread (fresh — accepted week of delivery)
When you give, you’re not just providing food. You’re giving hope. You’re telling a child they’ll have a warm meal to enjoy. You’re showing a struggling parent that their community sees and supports them.
