The GVTC Foundation Donates $88K During COVID-19 Pandemic
Recognizing the enormous need in GVTC’s service area due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The GVTC Foundation has donated $87,500 in grants to provide immediate financial support to 19 local nonprofits assisting families across Greater San Antonio, the Texas Hill Country, and South Central Texas.
Our Mission to Provide
The GVTC Foundation’s mission is to enhance the quality of life for those in our community through charitable contributions and volunteer service. In these trying times, we are reminded of what truly matters: our families, our community, and our health.
“While this event is unprecedented and affects everyone, it’s crucial that we come together as one community right now. The GVTC Foundation is here for its neighbors by supporting local nonprofit partners actively serving our community. A lot of uncertainty floats in the air but so does our hope for everyone to see this through,” said Paula White, The GVTC Foundation President.
Aiding Local Nonprofits
In response to the immediate need for essential services and goods, The GVTC Foundation Board unanimously agreed to support 10 food pantries, 3 senior centers, 4 children programs, and 1 medical center helping those in GVTC’s service area.
Organizations aided include: Blanco Good Samaritan Center, Provisions Food Pantry in Bulverde, C.R.R.C. of Canyon Lake, Gonzales Christian Assistance Ministries, Habitat for Safe Seniors, Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries, Hill Country Family Services, Hope Center Food Pantry Outreach, New Braunfels Food Bank, Hope Hospice, RCBC Helping Hands Food Pantry, Bulverde Spring Branch Activity Center (Sr. Center), Rainbow Senior Center at Kronkosky Place (Boerne), Comal County Senior Citizens Foundation, Boerne Community Coalition, Boerne Blessings in a Backpack, SJRC Texas, Roy Maas Meadowland Campus in Boerne, and Acacia Medical Mission.
One Community
From Gonzales and New Braunfels to Blanco and Boerne, many organizations strive for the same mission to lift up fellow community members. The GVTC Foundation is actively seeking more ways to help and shine a light on all the good still happening around us.
“It’s important that we remain united, strong, and connected during this time. As GVTC continues to provide essential communications services like Broadband and Security to our customers, we also continue to lean on one another for support. That’s the GVTC way,’ said Ritchie Sorrells, GVTC President & CEO
